Kindergarten is a special place for five year olds to grow and develop. It gives him/her a chance to do, explore, discover, and create. A kindergarten is not a first grade. Each child is a unique individual. Kindergarten offers an opportunity for him/her to grow at his/her own rate in all areas of development...emotional, social, physical, and intellectual.
All of the content areas of the elementary school are present in the curriculum. However, these areas are not all taught in isolated fashion, but integrated as experiences to build concepts, teach skills, and lay foundations for future learning...not necessarily producing a finished product each day.

Our curriculum follows the objectives outlined by the Diocese of Charlotte.

Our Saxon Phonics and Spelling program stresses phonological and phonemic awareness. Children learn the name, sound, and written formation of each letter of the alphabet. Using worksheets, word practice sheets, sight word flash cards, review at home, and spelling with letter tiles introduces each child to reading.

Saxon Math builds on prior learning. Morning meetings provide daily opportunities to count, practice patterns, and learn many aspects of the calendar. Our lessons provide hands on learning followed by lesson practice worksheets.

Our science program leads us to learn about weather, plants, and animals.
